CATALAN CULTURE: PICASSO AND GAUDÍ

Picasso and Gaudí.



Picasso: Picasso was a excelent painter in Catalonia. There is one museum in Gosòl in the Berguedà region. At the museum, he has an important collection of his works. There is also a museum in Barcelona. Nice to visit!!



He was born on the 25th octuber of 1881 and he dead on 8th april of 1973 in Malaga.The movement of Picasso was cubism.The family moved to a Coruña in 1891 where his father became at the School of Arts, four later years he went to Barcelona where he studies at a the School called Llotja

Gaudí.
Antoni Gaudí i Cornet was a catalan famous architect from Catalan Modernism (1852-1926).
He concentrated his buildings in the capital of Catalonia; Barcelona.
His most importants buildings are:


- Sagrada Familia
- Casa Milà
- Casa Batllò.

And his projects:


- Parc Güell
- Colònia Güell


In his architecture, Gaudí introduced new tehcniques in the tractament of materials, such as a trecadis, made of waste ceramic pieces.

 



During his studies, Gaudí designed various projects: A monumental fountain, a cementery gate, a spanish pavilion...


He was a naturalist architect. His projects are:
- Casa Calvet.
- Finca Miralles.
- Rosary of Montserrat.
